" I HAVE BEEN STICKING TO MY MEAL PLAN FOR 5 WEEKS. IT'S MENTAL TO ME ! "
Aaliyah had gained a lot of weight over the last year and a half. She tried to lose weight using different methods before but always fell back into her old habits of binge eating, using excuses to eat take away food and drinking alcohol regularly.
So Aaliyah decided to join TeamLRF as she knew she needed extra accountability and a plan to help her stick to a routine.
Feeling more in control of good habits...
“My bad habits have disappeared. The ability to say no to bad food whilst at work and alcohol whilst at home. Just the fact that I haven’t eaten a cheat meal or anything other than the food in my plan in 5 weeks is mental to me! It’s helped me realise that I am more in control of my food decisions than I thought”
The lessons and the progress...
“I’ve learnt how to progress at the gym with little wins, rather than sticking the weight up and then not controlling it properly. It’s not all about what weight you can do.
I’ve learnt that eating 5 meals a day with almost double my original calorie intake, is more efficient for weight loss than 2/3 meals a day. I understand weight loss and muscle gain better than I did before. I think I am slowly losing weight and can feel my clothes getting slightly baggier which is reassuring. I do feel that my whole body is also slowly toning up week by week
The challenges of being a shift worker...
I constantly have a lack of sleep. My steps for the day sometimes end up depending on what I do at work that shift. It’s hard to motivate myself to go to the gym when I'm already late off from a 12 hour shift. Eating 5 meals a day whilst trying to sleep for at least 4 hours before the next shift is hard due to the prep needed”
But regardless of the challenges Aaliyah is still making progress and said: “I have a lot more motivation to lose weight, eat better and to go to the gym. This has given me more confidence”
